Keeping Year-End Records From Binance: Exports That Actually Reconcile

How to export spot trades, deposits, withdrawals, conversions and earn rewards from Binance, organise the files by year, and reconcile totals so your records hold up later.

One of the less glamorous parts of using Binance is keeping proper records. Tax authorities in many countries expect you to report gains, and an accountant will ask for complete history, not just a screenshot of your balance. Binance offers several export tools, but each covers a different slice of activity. Download only one and you will miss conversions, rewards or transfers. Here is the set that, combined, tends to reconcile.

The exports you need

In the Binance web interface, open Orders and look for Spot Order, then Trade History with an export button. Open Wallet, then Transaction History, to export deposits and withdrawals. Convert history sits under Orders as its own tab. Earn and staking distributions appear in the earn section history. Binance also offers a consolidated transaction statement option in the account statements area that bundles many of these; generate it, but keep the individual files too.

Handle date ranges and time zones

Some exports limit how many months can be requested at once, so pull the year in quarters if needed. Note the time zone used in the files, frequently UTC, and convert it consistently in your spreadsheet. A trade at night in your local time can land on a different date in UTC, and at year end that can move it into a different tax year.

Reconcile before you file it away

Add up deposits minus withdrawals and compare the net change with your trading results and current balances. Transfers between your own accounts should net out: a withdrawal from Binance and the matching deposit in your wallet share a transaction hash. If the totals do not reconcile, look first at converts and small balance dust conversions, which people often forget.

Store it so you can find it in five years

Keep the raw downloaded files untouched in a folder named by year, plus your working spreadsheet. Back the folder up to two places, for example an external drive and an encrypted cloud folder. Add a short note file explaining which export each spreadsheet came from and the date you downloaded it, so a future you or an accountant can trace any number back to its source. Rules differ by country, so ask a local tax professional what records you must keep and for how long.

Digital assets are volatile and derivatives can amplify losses. This website has no login, wallet connection, deposit form or customer-support chat. Scenario checkpoint

  • Export trade history, transaction history, convert history and earn history separately.
  • Request long periods in quarterly chunks if the export tool limits the date range.
  • Convert every timestamp to a single time zone before working out year-end totals.
  • Match each withdrawal to its receiving deposit using the shared transaction hash.
